The return of the Tawny Frogmouth

Charles......

The Tawny Frogmouths have returned.

Trace spotted the pair nesting in the morning light. This breeding pair have been coming back here for years. We saw them bring up a chick here last year.

Their arrival also was spotted by the Noisy Indian Myna birds which  began a huge assault of dive bombing attacks. The pair have moved over to the back of the house into some bigger trees.

Dhangal

Charlie................
Dig this lino print of Hunting Dhungal by Brian Robinson which shows a hunter standing on a platform at sea while waiting for a dugong to swim past.  I love the night sky filled with stars and the infinite complexity of elements woven together to capture both the dugong and the hunter in a intricate dance of life.
Trace and I came across a beached dugong just above the tide line very worse for ware but still kicking as we were walking out to the point.
